IndoCircularWaste is an international research collaboration project concerning waste management and circular economy, funded by DANIDA Fellowship Center, Denmark. It is conducted under a research consortium among the University of Southern Denmark, Universitas IMuhammadiyah Magelang, Universitas Dian Nuswantoro, and the Center for South East Asian STudy. The objective of IndoCircularWaste is to develop a novel circular economy business model for municipal solid waste management in Indonesia. The IndocircularWaste focuses on 1) Digitalization of the waste handling value chain, 2) Improving policies for waste separation in households 3) Increasing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). The purpose iis to increase the reuse of material and energy resources present in municipal solid waste in Indonesia. IndocircularWaste will directly contribute to the Indonesian and Danish development visions, and will also contribute to the fulfillment of the Indonesian Roadmap for Sustainable Development Goals specifically: SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being; SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities; SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production; SDG 13 – Climate Action; and SDG 17 – Partnerships.
